The First Two Weeks

today marks two weeks since we left for Spain, and these first two weeks have been so fun and exciting. the days fly by, but it also seems like we have been here for way more than 14 days. these past few weeks have been filled with new friends, interesting foods, and the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. the first day, we took a horse and carriage ride through the city, and it was absolutely beautiful. last week we went to the cathedral here in Sevilla, which is the largest gothic cathedral in the world, and today we went to Real Alcazar, which is an old Arabian palace. both places were breathtaking.

classes are going well, but it’s hard to force myself to go when we’re in a city like this.

siesta is the coolest thing ever. if you love naps as much as I do, come to Spain.

as far as culture shock goes, I don’t really feel like life is much different, and the things that are different haven’t been hard to adapt to so far. life is much slower here. people aren’t on a strict schedule rushing from place to place like they are in America. people aren’t consumed with work like they are at home, but rather they enjoy more time with their family and friends. there isn’t a pressure to be “doing something” all the time, which is such a better way to live life in my opinion.

So far, I can’t complain. this city is amazing, and i’m so excited for so many more experiences here.
